Progress In Sauri, Kenya

In western Kenya the village of Sauri has been a successful village due to its development. Like agricultural yields doubling, child morality dropping by 30% and school attendance rising thanks to their attitude change. Sauri was the first of the 80-millennium villages now. Sachs accomplished all of this by using technology-based and simple programs improving health care, poverty and education. They also help using crop rotation. Easterly argues that what they are doing won’t work on a larger scale. Easterly thinks that the governance and corruptions are the problems. Sachs states that he cannot do it all alone.

Poverty

I think that poverty should not exist in the world. Poverty can be solved by sharing resources to the less fortunate countries. We have learned that extreme poverty still exists in the world. The world bank is an international bank that helps the reconstruction and redevelopment of the less fortunate countries and villages. The world bank states that it is important to collect data from 73 countries you can see the different effects from those various different countries. Also you can compare those different countries to the others to see their development levels. Poverty is having unsatisfied material needs. The difference between extreme poverty and poverty is that extreme poverty is not only having unsatisfied basic needs but also having barely enough to go through bare survival. A poverty trap is where there are endless cycle where you never escape a life of hard work and have nothing to show for, but no survival. The world bank defines poverty as not having enough income to meet the most basic human needs and standards. Also for adequate food, water, land, shelter, clothing, sanitation, health care, and/or education. 1.4 billion people live under the poverty line in the world. it used to be 4 out of 10 people, but now it is 1 out of 4 people.Unicef.

Hope Is Power

"True peace is not merely the absence of tension, it is the presence of justice." Martin Luther King Jr.

I choose this quote because Martin Luther King Jr. is stating that to get true peace you don't only stop the tension but you also have to stand up for world peace. so that you put justice into your thoughts about world peace like poverty in the world, access to clean water and environment, access to shelter and access to electricity. He is also stating that he wants everyone in the world to have justice and have their own thoughts. But he is stating that there should be more justice and provide more justice specifically for the people who need it more that others like the ones ho are poorer and less fortunate. Also the quote is stating that if you try and put justice into your thoughts, hopefully you will achieve what you want. It also inspires people to do what they think about what would make the world a better place, how the world could improve, what they and other people could do to make the world more suitable for every one and what things have been violated. Also they have to put justice into that thought.

I choose this picture because this picture represents justice. This picture is the main symbol of justice. It is often referred to the main symbol that represents justice. The blindfolded lady symbolizes Justitia, Goddess of Justice. The blindfold states that in order to get justice you do not need to face fear regardless of money, power, weakness and identity. Also the lady symbolizes freedom.
